Castration of cats

Cat castration and cat sterilization is currently one of the most commonly performed preventive surgical procedures.

It is quite simple and from the animal's point of view very well managed procedure that will make your life easier for you and your pet. Cats are free from exhausting rays, pregnancy and subsequent care of kittens, which often die because the cat sometimes does not take care of all. By castration, you protect cats from fighting with other cats (they stop competing for cats), and also prevent their tagging. It will also prevent unwanted production of kittens who cannot be found and provided with adequate care.

Cat (female) sterilization is a surgical procedure that removes the uterus with the ovaries (ovariohysterectomy). It is performed at any time or at the earliest at the age of 5-6 months. It also removes the risk of uterine inflammation and dramatically reduces the risk of cat's mammary gland cancer. Other advantages are: increased owner-friendliness and reduced active radius of cat movement, they live longer.

In the castration, castrations are surgically removed of the testes, epididymis and part of the ducts at the age of 8-9 months. The cat does not lose the desire to mate immediately after the procedure, but up to a few weeks (depending on his age). Cat castration as well as cat sterilization is an irreversible procedure and the fertility of animals can no longer be restored. The cats are less wandering after castration, less aggressive, and territorial urine labeling is reduced. Last but not least, both sexes will reduce the risk of infectious diseases.

What should be noted after castration / sterilization is an increase in animal weight due to a decrease in hormone production, causing a slowdown in metabolism. Appetite will increase and energy consumption will be reduced. There are also feeds specifically designed for neutered cats and neutered cats to prevent the accumulation of excess fat while preventing the formation of urinary calculi. You can also do the above-mentioned tasks as well as purchase dietary granules for neutered cats and sterilized cats in our outpatient clinic.
